Crystal Reports: How to get Crystal Reports from earlier Peachtree versionIf you created reports in Crystal for Peachtree with data in a prior Peachtree version and you upgraded to a new version, you must convert the report so that they can properly read new data fields in the updated Peachtree version. After you install the new Peachtree Accounting version: 1. Open Crystal Reports from Peachtree’s Report Menu in your new version of Peachtree. 2. Open any of the custom Crystal report files (RPT). 3. Make sure they are saved in your Peachtree Company directory. (i.e., c:\peachw\abc) 4. Form the Database Menu, select Verify Database. 5. Click OK to if any error messages appear in order to continue. 6. Click OK when Crystal Reports displays Please give location of Info view or dictionary used to create this report. Select File.ddf. For example, select \PEACHW\ABC\FILE.DDF. 7. Click OK if you receive a data definition message in order to covert the report to the new version. 8. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until the report appears in Crystal Reports. 9. Save each updated and converted report. Repeat these steps for each custom report you created in the earlier version. -- by Gayle Raines, Director of Training at Baytek, an Authorized Peachtree Resource Center. |
